Learn Swahili in Tanzania
Participating on a Swahili Language Course in Tanzania with Projects Abroad is a great way to learn about a unique culture. Swahili is a Bantu language spoken in Tanzania, as well as Kenya. The Swahili language has been influenced by Arabic and more recently also by English. One of Swahili’s attributes is that its pronunciation is straightforward compared to some other languages.
Lessons are with a qualified language teacher and are tailored to your personal level and can be adapted to your interests and preferred teaching style. With accommodation in the home of a local family, you’ll learn quickly and can practice what you’ve learnt with your hosts each day.
There are two options when it comes to learning Swahili in Tanzania. You can choose to take part in an intensive standalone Language Course, where you will receive around 15 hours of tuition per week.
After completing your Swahili Language Course, you can also choose to spend time working on one of our Tanzania volunteer projects, such as Teaching or Care, and put your newly acquired language skills to use in a practical working environment.
Alternatively, you can choose to sign up for our 5-hour, 14-hour, or 30-hour Language Course add-ons, which run alongside your main volunteer project. These prices are in addition to your main project price. Please take a look at our Tanzania language prices for more information.
