Archaeology Volunteering in Latin America & the Caribbean
Archaeology placements with Projects Abroad are an exciting opportunity to study the remains of ancient civilisations while assisting on research projects and excavations. We welcome volunteers of all ages, whether you’re taking a career break, on a gap year, or simply looking for a unique and worthwhile holiday experience.
Archaeology in Latin America & the Caribbean - What Is It Like?
You don’t need any prior experience to join our Archaeology programmes; simply an interest in the subject and a willingness to learn! Volunteers will work alongside experts and gain valuable hands-on experience on our Archaeology projects in Latin America & the Caribbean. You will participate in a range of different activities, depending on the stage of the project. The main focus of the archaeological work is the investigation and mapping of unregistered structures and forms in Pikillaqta National Park.
The research obtained from these projects is of great importance, and your efforts make a valuable contribution in aiding our understanding of long-ago civilisations. Volunteers also have the opportunity to take part in community outreach activities and volunteer socials during their time on the placement.
This programme is a wonderful opportunity to pursue volunteer work relevant to your interests, while gaining valuable experience and exploring an entirely new destination.
